fish_guy
Can Blue rilli and Blue tigers be kept in the same tank?
DETAquarium
Simple answer is: Yes Tiger shrimp as a Caridina class usually do much better in Neocaridina conditions. They prefer a slightly harder water as Neos, thus a active substrate is not necessary and usually inert substrates are more commonly used. fish_guy
Thats what I was wondering. What kind of additives should I use to up my hardness a bit? My TDS runs in the 90 straight out of the tap here
Ch3fb0yrdee
TDS doesn't correlate to "hardness". I'm also assuming general hardness (gH) you are referring too. Also, if your tap is 90tds that's even a more vague statement and doesn't help us identify the gH or products you can use. Unless you've tested you tap at 90tds and found that it's XdGH. It's a vague statement because tap contains too many unknown variables.
fish_guy
PH is 7-7.3 coming out of the tap. Over night it settles out to 6.8-6.9 These numbers come from a calibrated PH pen. I tend to check the calibration about every two weeks. I use the same TDS meter I used for my RO water I have not tested for GH. What test kit would you recomend for it? Our water here is concidered soft by most standards. The discus breeders love it
Lyana
Get an api test kit for gh. I have a tap of tds 95 and mine is gh 5 but like Shrimpfan said, many other things that don't effect gh can make tds higher.
