sarah
I've had a little mystery in my community fish tank: For the past week or two, I have been finding empty bladder snail shells in the front corner of my tank: While I am not sad to see them go, I was worried that maybe something was off with the water conditions and was killing them. Until this morning.... Mystery solved: I have never heard of Amanos eating snails! I have reduced my fish feeding frequency to try to keep nitrates under control, and they must be hungry sewoeno

maylee
Makes me not want to put them in with other shrimp. I've already had bad experience with ghost shrimp eating a neo Would help with the ramshorns in my tank though
Ch3fb0yrdee
Amanos have voracious appetites. I've seen them snatch swimming shrimps and eat them. The bigger and badder females are even more notorious for this. They crave protein.

sarah
Mine are definitely "big bad females" When I feed the fish/frogs bloodworms, The Amanos will swim up and grab multiple worms at once using all their legs. It's very impressive!

DETAquarium
I have actually noticed similar activity from some of my Caridina species. Escargot anyone?
