Flanuora
Our tank is a few weeks old and we have completed a fishless cycle. We've ordered some nice red neos. This is our first shrimp only tank! We're very excited! However, it will take 2 weeks for our shrimp to arrive. We're wondering if we need to keep feeding the bacteria we've grown? When we put the ammonia in the tank is gone in 24 hours so we've got a good crop. Will the bacteria starve in the next 2 weeks? Should we keep feeding it the ammonia drops? I've never cycled without fish before. Any advice is appreciated. Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
Shrimple minded
Yes, continue to lightly feed ammonia (~1-2ppm). Feeding more wouldn't be a huge issue assuming you are doing a large water change prior to putting shrimp in the tank.
OMG Aquatics
Be sure to do water changes every week or 2 weeks, depending on amount of ammonia you add to control nitrates.
