Buu
I got some tibees about a month ago. The seller said they are first gen WRxTT. I noticed that I have 3 berried mommas now and was wondering what are the chance of me getting pure WR or TT from the offsprings. Is that even possible? ohmiko
If it's just tibee x tibee that berried those females, It's probably just going to be more tibee.
Buu
what about tibee x f1 mischlings? Will this make any difference on offspring outcome?
seaj
Sounds like you got some TangTai shrimp. If you keep them together, their babies will probably show many different phenotypes, This next batch of babies will probably look mostly like their parents, though it's also possible for babies to look similar to regular TT or WR. They already carry the TB gene, so they are already mischlings in a way, I believe. You may even get some pinto or steel shrimp if you are really lucky, since all the right genes are in play. You get those by combining tiger patterns with the TB gene in a double dose. The best way to increase your chances of getting those fancier types is to keep your TangTai females with only male TB. Since one of their parents was red, breeding them back to a WR should also result in about half of the babies being red. That's what I would do. Crossing back to a regular mischling could very well produce similar results, but the chance of the babies displaying the TB gene are cut in half. Of course these crosses rarely match the predicted outcome, so anything can happen. If you are looking to make red shrimp, cross them with a WR, or a red mischling.
