Cassandra
Hi everyone, I am a new shrimp owner with 2-3 crystal reds (1 just molted and is either in hiding or missing...) and 1 crystal black shrimp. I think the 2 crystal reds r adults and one is male and one is female but I wanted to get the opinion of some of you professional shrimp hobbyists. Inthe first pic attached I think the one on top is the male and the one on the bottom is the female. In the two following pictures I took side pics of the one I believe is female. Pls let me know your thoughts! Thank you in advance!
ibebian
Somewhat hard to tell from the angles but I think you're right the bottom shrimp in first photo is a female..Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
TheGlassBox
I agree with Idedian. Sometimes it's easy to tell if the male is really trim and the lady has a really deep carapace. But sometimes it's harder to gauge. But yeah, I think the upper one is a boy and the one on the bottom is a girl.

Mr. F
Agreed. The little "hump" on the lower one's back is a good clue she's a she! TheGlassBox
