Purigen or no?

Anyone use purigen with their shrimp tank?

 

I am currently debating if I should run purigen in my canister filter or not. Thoughts?

If you want your water crystal clear use it the stuff isnt bad.  I used to use it then decided to go the dark side with black water.

 

The good thing is you can regenerate it.

When I used it I had 2 bags in my canister filter on my 100 gallon tank and they lasted for months before they needed regeneration.

What sort of a filter do you have and how big is the tank?

I use it, I like it.  It's like a synthetic, super-charged version of Carbon.  I'm not saying you need it, but if you would run carbon anyway...

if you are using a canister filter, then use it.  It will only help.  It helps grab the bad stuff in the water as well as polishes the water.  If you ever dose medicine then take it out as it will soak that up too.
