I was thinking about adding to dwarf gourmis to my tank with ghost shrimp in it. Is it possible to keep shrimp with gourmis if the shrimp have plenty of space to hide?

Hi, thanks in advance for helping! I have a heavily planted 2 gallon nano tank with one ghost shrimp. I'm looking for tank mates, preferably solitary becuase I don't have the room for fish fry:). The tank is heavily planted, with 3 Marimo moss balls, 6 small water wisteria, and some natural decor and a cave. Ideas please? Tank specs are: Tempurature- a constant 69 pH- constant 7.8 ammonia/nitrites/all that jazz- 0ppm except for nitrates, which is about 15-20ppm usually The tank has undergone the nitrogen cycle. Thanks! This is a picture of the tank, to get a sense of dimensions. The flashy gravel was chosen by the youngest child in our family.

What i'm hoping to do is make a shrimp tank for 27.05 USD. i have a gift card to pet smart for that amount (from returning something). I already have a 5 gallon tank a hood (no bulb) and a filter housing ( no sponge or cartridge) a net That's all i have. What i think i have enough money for pre filter on the intake (~4) (only biological and mechanical filter in the tank) one marimo moss ball ($8)(they have fake ones that do grow moss and are a couple of bucks cheaper. are these ok?) Declorinator (like $8 for 3 oz) Light (~4.50)(will this provide enough heat in house that gets down to 65f at night?) however many ghost shrimp i can get with leftover + $2 in change Will they be able to survive ~2 months until i got get more money? Also would it be necessary to buy a thermometer for this set up?

Hey all, I was planning on breeding cherries sometime soon and wanted to know if this shrimp would devour them. Based on what I know about macros, it's behavior is nothing like them, never attacks the other shrimp (unless food is involved or it has been messed with). Although, I have noticed that it has been getting some markings that seem similar to macros, like red stripes on the antenna and claws, but then again this shrimp is only 3/4 of an inch long, not like the monster macros. Also, it ate my guppy while it was still alive, but it was sick, so I'm not sure. Thanks for any help you can give. You can see the 'claw' in the third picture.

Hey! Yesterday I went to the LFS looking for a buddy for my ghost shrimp. I ended up getting the smallest shrimp there, and at the time, I guess the employee thought that it was a ghost shrimp... But now I'm not so sure... Can someone identify this shrimp?

Hi! I just got my first ghost shrimp. Never raised them before. I only started off with one, will add more later. Before getting my shrimp, I tested the water and everything was perfect. Water temp is a constant 69, I have live plants in there too. My shrimp has been hiding out behind a rock all day! He has hardly moved, and isn't active at all. Is there something wrong? Is it just the shock? He's been in there for about 5 hours. Was swimming around right after I put him in. Please help!! Thanks!

I was chatting with a neighbor and in telling her about my new adventure in shrimp, she took upon herself to "gift" me with some new buddies. She brings me a plastic container of 6 Ghost Shrimp from her son's tank. They were all that survived his impulse buy of tank, fish/shrimp and stress coat. I haven't done much with these guys, so I am asking for tutorials.....quick. LOL Are they like my BV? Are they sexed like them? Do they breed easily? I luckily have a few tanks that are on the verge of cycling and I am hoping I don't kill these guys. These look to be huge next to my BV's, so I am assuming they are all adults. They seem active and healthy. I don't see eggs, but do they do that? Any and all advice is appreciated.
