GDT78
Hi guys so here is another question for selective breeding purposes: If I have a female that have just molted and I put her with a male, how long before one can see that she is berried. This would be convenient to know so that I can return the male if he came from a different tank.
Soothing Shrimp
I'm confused with the question. How long after mating does berries take place? Within 24 hours. Heck I've seen some within an hour.
Mamashack
Have you seen them mate? Has he done his crazy dance yet? When she's ready to mate she'll moult and then give off the "come and get me" pheromone and he will go mental trying to find her. As Soothing said once they've mated the eggs can descend to the undercarriage quite quickly. I saw mine ping apart from the male in the morning when she'd had enough and by the time I got home from work she was berried. Amazing!
