Soothing Shrimp Posted November 19, 2014 Report Posted November 19, 2014 I have pennywort to ship, and now that the weather is 30F and under, how do I box/envelope them? Quote
h4n Posted November 19, 2014 Report Posted November 19, 2014 box them as normal insulated box helps but definitely not a must have. the main goal to for the buyer not to leave the plants/box in the mailbox for hours. countryboy12484 1 Quote
Soothing Shrimp Posted November 19, 2014 Author Report Posted November 19, 2014 Do I have to worry about them icing up? Quote
OMG Aquatics Posted November 19, 2014 Report Posted November 19, 2014 I had some flame moss come in from oversea and it was in my mailbox for 4 hours today at around 30F and still green as ever. I don't think plants are in danger until temps reach around 0-10F My plants have survived 30F temperature many times this week and for a few hours. evilguppy 1 Quote
Soothing Shrimp Posted November 20, 2014 Author Report Posted November 20, 2014 With the winter weather, there's no guarantee about not going down lower than 30F. Still, you think it would be okay without a heat pack? Quote
OMG Aquatics Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 I guess. As long as the plant doesn't freeze, it shouldn't be an issue. Quote
h4n Posted November 20, 2014 Report Posted November 20, 2014 moss is hardier then plants Bryce just dont have them soaking wet wrap the baggie up in a few news paper and box it. no heat pack needed unless buyer plans on leaveing it a tin box for hours on end. All i do is plant into ziplock bag and cover them in some bubble wrap and into the box they go. I only do insulation and heat pack when the buyer purchases it. Soothing Shrimp 1 Quote
