Ron
Hello, I was wondering if anyone could suggest the best macro lens for a Canon. I had an EF 100mm f2.8L Macro IS USM but I wasn't happy with the focal length so I think my next lens will be a 50mm. Thanks,Ron
JamesHe
No, I think the 100mm/F2.8L is the best you can get for Canon. You may need a monolight and wireless trigger.

Shrimpy Daddy
Are you using APS-C or full frame body? 100mm is perfect for full frame body but too long for APS-C.

I hope not cause I just sold it. Already have lights but need a trigger. Canon mp-e 65mm if you can swing it. I'll look into it. Shrimpy Daddy
If it is full frame, 100mm is fine. I started a thread for exchanging tips and tricks: http://www.shrimpspot.com/index.php?/topic/2437-shrimp-photography-pointer-skill-tip-sharing/ Why not you post the challenge you encountered with your current gear there, let everyone give you advise on how to make full use of it?
