TheShrimporium
Do you prefer ELOS or SALIFERT when buying test kits for GH and KH testing? Or share the brand you use besides API. Everyone and their momma has used API including myself so no use posting about to inform me I use ELOS for GH and Salifert for KH. Somewhat happy with both but I believe my GH kit is toast after only 7-8 months since first use. Instructions said atleast 12 months. Ch3fb0yrdee
I use Hana Instruments. I find that the API liquid kits are very inaccurate (up to 2degrees at times) and their readings are 1,2,3 etc.. whereas Hana gives me up to 2 decimal points of accuracy. I've been slowly converting to use only Hana Instruments testing equipments. Elo500 and EricM

Ch3fb0yrdee
A helpful note: Hana Instrument test kits doesn't have like 2-3year shelf life like API. They last a few months. Lol!! In a way it makes sense. I don't use Hana for kH testing as I use rodi and rarely need to test my kH.
OblongShrimp
What GH will the Hana test up to? I wasn't able to find my answer with some quick googling.
Ch3fb0yrdee
Hana gH has a low - high range kit. For aquaria, use the low range (linked). Capable of testing up to 8.33dGH.
