josu2
FWIW, dirted tanks often seem to get stuck in lower pH due to the decomposing materials in the dirt. Of course, this is a positive for many species. I have a dirted tank that has crushed coral in the filter and a huge bag in the tank and the pH is still 6.0-6.4 for the most part. And I know the crushed coral has an effect because the GH measures 18-20 degrees despite only 6 degrees out of the tap! Oh and the plant growth is fantastic. oem
Thanks josu2. I have 1/4" inert pebbles on top of my compost. What type of soil did you use and do you have anything on top of that soil? The dimi's I got from Wyggles are in this tank and am hoping they get that faint blue color as they mature.
