metageologist
My tanks do the same thing and I have never noticed any adverse affects. I also have to disturb this layer on accession as my tank is densely planted and I need to pull some on occasion. have a gneiss day
Shrimpy Daddy
If it is not turning blue-green (cyanobacteria) and remains brown (diatom), it is good algae and just leave it.
ArtheLad
Nice, thanks for the info guys. I've read some of article regarding it, it called brown algae. They exist, some of the cause is because of less-lightings.. Hhmn weird.. I thought I always put on direct lights for almost 18 hours a day. Shrimpy Daddy
They occur because of too much light, not less light. All algae need light. The more light, the more they will grow.
