When water begins to oxidize, the product releases calcium ions, controlling the drop in pH level. Different from calcium carbonate (such as coral sand), which constantly emits calcium, the product releases calcium ions when necessary and controls the drop in pH level, making it safe not only for saltwater fish and African cichlids, but also for aquariums for discus and arowana, which tend to drop in pH level. 5 liters(4.5q.t) Control PH drop (7.5-8.5)Surface area for microbial settlement: 400m2/liter equal 4784 sq.ft/qt.Suitable for any marine aquarium or breeding Sulawesi shrimp. Soothing Shrimp
So does "Power House Hard Type product" take the place of a remin product such as SS sulawesi? Also, since the calcium is constantly leeched, does the gh constantly increased?
swissian
So does "Power House Hard Type product" take the place of a remin product such as SS sulawesi? Also, since the calcium is constantly leeched, does the gh constantly increased? This is not a replacement for remineralization product. It is just a strong biological media that has qualities that could benefit SS sulawesi shrimp. The main component of Power House Hard Type products is calcium silicate crystalline wollastonite. When water begins to oxidize, the product releases calcium ions, controlling the drop of pH level. Different from calcium carbonate (such as coral sand) which constantly emits calcium, the product releases calcium ions when necessary and controls drop in pH level, making it safe not only for saltwater fish and African cichlids, but also for aquariums for discus and arowana which tend to drop in pH level. From what I understand, this product helps to prevent pH swings as it releases the calcium only when water oxidizes.
