Trotwood
What's the lowest temperature folks have successfully kept Neos at? I'm currently keeping Fire Red Shrimp and am wondering about not using a heater this winter. I live in Northern Vermont and we generally let our house get down to 60 at night and during the day when we're at work. Too cold? I don't mind if breeding slows down but would want them to be healthy and happy. All opinions are welcome of course but I'd especially love to hear from folks who have direct experience, good or bad, with keeping shrimp in the low 60s. Thanks in advance! RyeGuy411
They would be fine in the 60's just not that active. Soothing Shrimp

manticore
at 60 they did, but developed more slowly
fishcrazy
Lowest I kept mines was low 60s. To me their color is deeper in the lower 70s like 70-73, but the shrimplets do grow slower.

zodiac
why not use a heater? i would think they would be more happy in 74F then 60 or lower. spent most of my life in Vermont...just because you suffer in the winter doesn't mean the shrimp have too also.
