repsaJ Posted July 19, 2015 Report Share Posted July 19, 2015 I currently have two separate lines of the "Blue Dream" variety of Neocaridina shrimp, and was hoping to refine it further to improve the consistency of the blue coloration throughout. I understand that outcrossing or simply adding new "blood" is necessary if you desire to add more genetic diversity into your line. However, if my goal is to improve color and reduce the number that need to be culled, would it be better to mix the best into a line of their own, or keep the two lines separate and selecting the best in those? Soothing Shrimp Posted July 21, 2015 Report Share Posted July 21, 2015 Keep the best and let go of the rest. It really is that simple for the simplest selective breeding.
