Loumeer
Hello, I am looking to get Tourmaline mineral balls like the MK-Breed balls. I noticed on ebay there are tons of generic ones that are a fraction of the price of the MK-Breed balls. Do they do the same thing? Has anybody had any experience buying the generic one off ebay? Thanks.

Lyana
I have the ones off eBay in my prl tank. I couldn't say if they do anything or not. The tank is healthy with berried shrimp, and doing better then my TB tank without them. But I doubt that is due to the balls lol
Ch3fb0yrdee
Prices for these balls have dropped much in the past recent 2-3yrs. Used to be that they cost $20ish back when EbiKen was making them. $6.99 for 10balls is a sweet price.
Jaykidding
Are tourmaline balls the same thing as mk-breed life balls?
Loumeer
I am fairly sure they are the same. I am not MK so I do not know if they are produced differently but they sure do look the same.
Jaykidding
So would you recommend mk breed or the tourmaline
Loumeer
I don't feel that I am qualified to answer that question. I think it would take somebody who works in a lab that could break down a ball of each and run some tests. It could be that MK Breed adds stuff to their balls or it could be that they buy generic balls and slap their name on it and mark it up. I went ahead and bought the generic balls from ebay because I don't have the funds to buy MK Breed for all my tanks.
