fishface Posted February 27, 2016 Report Posted February 27, 2016 I have RCS in 2 planted tanks with algae and driftwood - 1 tank with Baryancistrus beggini (blue/blue-fin panaque) and 1 tank with Ancistrus ranunculus (Medusa catfish). The catfish are fed Repashy Soilent Green, Morning Wood, Super Green, and occasionally Spawn N Grow. Also fresh veggies 5-7 times a week. My water is very hard; every time I try to do GH/KH I end up losing track when I get to 3 figures, so just go with HR Ph at 8+.) Ammonia = 0, nitrite = 0, nitrate = 40. So, my question is - should I be feeding anything else for the shrimp? Quote
Fishprinceofca Posted February 27, 2016 Report Posted February 27, 2016 I have shrimp in a planted community tank, as well, and they are thriving without additional food. Sometimes I throw in an occasional treat, like an algae wafer, or a Borneo Wild Frenzy pad, but they're fine subsisting on what's already in the tank. Quote
fishface Posted February 27, 2016 Author Report Posted February 27, 2016 That's good to hear! It seemed to me that would be sufficient but I have NO experience with shrimp so thought it wise to check Fishprinceofca 1 Quote
Pokeshrimp Posted February 27, 2016 Report Posted February 27, 2016 If you're not against leaf litter you can toss some in to make sure they have enough to eat. Quote
fishface Posted February 27, 2016 Author Report Posted February 27, 2016 I do have mulberry trees that have never been sprayed / treated with anything. And I live in the country and nothing near me has been sprayed either. Quote
