Normal?

Rili

Recommended Posts

I am sorry if this is not the right place to post this, please let me know if it's in the wrong place.

I bought some Carbon rili shrimp a month ago and I noticed that one of the shrimp has weird mark on the side of its head. I didn't think too much of this because it was so small that I thought I was just seeing things. Now that the shrimp has grown a bit it doesn't look normal. What do you think?

I couldnt get the pics to upload but here's a link for the pictures. I found it odd because it was only on one of the shrimps.  http://s1098.photobucket.com/user/sharon3354/slideshow/Mobile Uploads

It looks like the placement of earholes, but the pinkish/red tint in a couple of the pics is odd. Is that just the photograph?

Glad to help! Another thing about earholes: many people find this trait undesirable in rili shrimp as it diminishes the solid head and tail pattern of a high grade rili, so if you're trying to breed for quality, you may want consider this shrimp as a cull. Anyway, good luck with your shrimp!
