biocube for neos?

Is it possible to set up a 14g biocube for neos? I recently lost my eclipse 12 due to a crack. I moved all the shrimp to a 10 which I just hate.. the eclipse was such a great tank it just sucks they discont it and i've looked all over for a replacement and can't find one. I took a look at a biocube pic and saw the intake is a few slats at the bottom and some at the top. can you stuff it with floss to keep it from sucking in shrimp? it's what i did for my fluval in tank filter.

I have a Japan Aqua tank that also has a built in filter in the back.  It has the slots down low and up top.  For the ones down low I just used some medium size crush volcanic rock to cover the slots before covering it with my finer substrate so it wouldn't get into the filter camber.  For the ones up top I cut a piece of filter foam so it would be a snug fit in the back chamber.  The foam is fine enough to not allow shrimplets to get through but large enough I do not need to constantly clean it but it does act as a good prefilter which is easy to remove and clean when needed.

Some people don't like built in filters as they take up tank space but you just need to keep that in mind when to decide which size tank to buy.  I really like them as they offer a lot of bio capacity, a place for a heater if needed, super easy to clean if you keep your biomedia, purigen, etc in filter bags.  Just pull them out, clean in tank water, vacuum out the chamber and drop all your media back in.

I have an old eclipse tank if you are interested? Just sitting in the garage. It was the system 12 bowfront.

Thanks guys the biocube people didn't recommend it for a shrimp tank. I went and got the Tetra halfmoon kit and I LOVE it so much I bought another one. The 1st is just about ready to add shrimp and the second will be ready in another 2 to 3 weeks.  I'm using the SL Aqua cycling on it and it's amazing how fast it's maturing with a nice coat of bio-film all over it. It's doing so well I'm finally going to try CRS
