Puddles
I cut down a tree in my backyard today but I don't know what kind of tree it is. Can anyone identify this? It had a small base trunk with smaller trunks branching off of it.
Gabor129
Does the twigs snap easily? Did it had fuzzy silver buds in very early spring? Are the branches olive green to a bit grayish? It looks afoul close to a certain willow, I'm not sure I should write here!!!
Puddles
The branches were very bendy. Gray olive bark. Little buds like below.

Puddles
Hmm. Are the leaves worth feeding to my shrimp? This link here shows someone using its bark to fight bacterial infections: http://forum.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/archive/index.php/t-82997.html
Soothing Shrimp
Here's what Puddles is referring to: "Adding some pussy willow bark to the aquarium also helps in the fight against infection, due to its natural antibiotic content it makes it a great natural treatment. The pussy willow bark should not be used long term though, due to its antibiotic content it also has the ability to start killing off the good bacteria in the aquarium, so 3 days maximum is recommended." I've never done it, so I don't know anything about it.
Gabor129
Yes, it a low antibiotic content, however in a shrimp tank with a low bacterial count, it might clear out everything! I feed it to my rabbits to control wet tail, which is a deadly diseases!
