OMG Aquatics Posted December 9, 2014 Report Posted December 9, 2014 Anyone have success breeding cherry shrimp at around 6.5-7 PH? Quote
mlsthuy1 Posted December 9, 2014 Report Posted December 9, 2014 I have super reds with my crystal at 6.5 ph and they do just fine. Quote
OMG Aquatics Posted December 9, 2014 Author Report Posted December 9, 2014 Does that low PH affect their breeding? Quote
wicca32 Posted December 9, 2014 Report Posted December 9, 2014 i had rili breed well with my crs. both breed like mad i would say 6-6.5 ph range. my rili were the only ones that liked it none of the other neos did well in the low ph. it can be done but its kinda hit and miss Quote
Soothing Shrimp Posted December 9, 2014 Report Posted December 9, 2014 My experience is that they would survive, but not breed that low. Quote
junglefowl Posted December 9, 2014 Report Posted December 9, 2014 I got fire red shrimps in an ADA tank with low PH (around 6.2-6.5). They will need time to get used to with the water if they come from a source with different tank's parameters. But when my shrimps started to breed...they will keep breeding nonstop...even with low PH Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
JamesHe Posted December 9, 2014 Report Posted December 9, 2014 It would work for short term, long term would die off. Quote
junglefowl Posted December 9, 2014 Report Posted December 9, 2014 Probably true! Should have said my tank is about 1 year old! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
Greenteam Posted December 9, 2014 Report Posted December 9, 2014 My carbon rilis are in PH 6.5 and breeding with no issues. Quote
JamesHe Posted December 9, 2014 Report Posted December 9, 2014 Probably true! Should have said my tank is about 1 year old! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I had my RCS thriving for 1-2 years, then die off after 3 years. Quote
