Teruterubozu
So my tank levels are tds 389, gh 4 kh3. If I wanted to use the salty shrimp to get to a target of gh 8 & kh 4 with distilled water. How much is acceptable to go up at once? Also are the measurements cumulative with the tank? For example of the tank is at 4 and I make the distilled water 4 should I get a combined gh of 4 or 8? That was probably a weird question but math makes my head hurt. .. Subtletanks91
What the freak are you keeping in such a high tds gh and kh?!?!
Soothing Shrimp
Actually Neos can take those params fine, although I had problems keeping my neos under 6 gh. If you are doing a wc, the water taken out is the same as added. So if you make your RO gh4 in that case, nothing raises. If topping off, you are adding gh to what you already have. Does that help? Teruterubozu
Uhh... Blue pearls? I read they like a gh of 4 -10 and kh of 0-8 so I kinda just picked a middle ground. I know the tds is high, working on getting that down which is why I want to use the distilled water and not tap which already had a high tds but low gh&kh. Soothing Shrimp
TDS will also drop when doing a water change with RO and removing tap. Nothing to worry about. LOL I just received some Neos from someone who was keeping them in 700 TDS.
Teruterubozu
Just to make sure I understood. With a water change the tank and treated water should average out to something between the two values, and a top off will just add to existing gh/kh?
