aquariumlover10
So my 2.5 is the new tank of death,I drained it and moved plants and shrimp and such to a small .5g holding tank, and I want to take all the substrate out, but I don't know if those will be ok, can I do it? I am talking about going complete bare Bottom.
Soothing Shrimp
For your TOD, bare bottom is possible as I've seen it. However substrate gives a lot more area for benificial bacteria to grow. aquariumlover10
aquariumlover10
Yeah I know, but I literally am broke, I have some Caribbean colored gravel, I could try half bb with that.
Soothing Shrimp
Lots of people are experimenting with half substrate tanks now. At least that gives area for more bacteria.

aquariumlover10
Uh oh, so I have ringworm on my arm, so I don't want the medicine getting in my tank so I am just going to leave the tank alone for awhile. chibikaie
Good luck with the ringworm. I keep picking it up, I guess from work. I always forget to use the ointment long enough. So it comes back. (Do what I say, not what I do!) aquariumlover10
