Jadenlea
I thought of a question as I was driving today. Is it possible for the females to hide long enough to not berry after they molt? And how long is that? I was just curious if there is a certain amount of time they are breedable and then it passes if they can avoid the boys long enough. Citycode01
Good question Jadenlea, I want to know the answer too. I saw once that all my males chasing Tiger female and next day she wasn't berried somehow she managed to escape and the males lost them interest to her, so it should be less than 24 hours. JamesHe
Molting is no guarantee to get berried. Female may skip once after berried couple times.
Chiumanfu
I've seen a saddled female straight up reject a male. She folds her tail under and the male can't get at the goods. She just stayed like that for a good hour with the male crawling all over her until he gave up. I think I have a cell phone video of it somewhere around here. Chiumanfu
Sorry about the terrible quality. I only had my phone on me when I saw this. Lasted 30 mins before he gave up. I cut the video to skip the boring parts. https://youtu.be/_k-jWOgs6o4
Jadenlea
It must be tough being a girl shrimp! hehe thanks for the video. Still looking for an answer to how long they have to avoid the males before they are no longer fertile or attracting them though. Hours? A day? A week?
