This is in my red cherry tank.

I was debating on adding EcoComplete to raise height a bit,as i have a new bag of EcoComplete,or adding the stuff that looks like little black balls?? I forget the brand?Is there a difference in the Ph bufering?TIA

Eco complete is inert so it will work well with rcs. It will not lower your pH. On average, the grains are too big for shrimp to dig around in but there is lots of surface area.

Make sure to rinse it really well as I've heard good and bad things about the bacterial liquid it ships in.

Pool sand is the best for neos.

 

You can get it from Lowes or HomeDepot for $4 50lbs bag.

Bake it in oven overnight, it's ready to use.
