Shrimpie
So I have this beautiful Mr. Aqua low iron 22g tank. What can I do about a lid? I did get some pieces of plastic from Tap plastics. But I really don't like how it looks. Should I just go to a glass place and get glass cut or make a mesh screen for the top? Shrimpo
Local fish stores usually carry nice aquarium glass covers that can be folded for easy feeding and maintenance. I would avoid plastic or acrylic covers, they tend to bend due to the heat from light fixtures. Soothing Shrimp
Shrimpie
Problem is - attaching those glass tops to a rimless tank.
Shrimpo
Then get a sheet of glass cut to the desired dimensions and make sure to leave a gap for air exchange /power cords/ air line tubing...
Shrimpie
You like the glass idea better than the mesh idea?
Shrimpo
The mesh may prevent light to reach the plants if you have them in your tank.
Shrimpie
I only do moss. The mesh I was thinking about is a kit at Bulk Reef - http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/diy-aquarium-screen-top-kits-1-4-netting.html But I just found some clips that I can use to hold the glass cover on amazon - http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JX9215Q/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1CSCZ8CRWX2GH And I might be able to fit this glass top - http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002AS80C/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=AEL917WTFL8PV
Shrimpo
Glass top is much better in my opinion, not sure how much light the mesh will block.

Shrimple minded
Screen is surprisingly effective at decreasing light intensity, from TPT: http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/showthread.php?t=114756 Shrimpie
