Garlands
Hi, guys! I'm wondering how many CRS it is advisable to begin with when you intend on breeding them. I have 7 right now and I'm wondering if that number is too low. Thanks! MableBile and Edwardnah
OMG Aquatics
When it comes to breeding, the more the better. Soothing Shrimp
eozen81
I always applied this method for new set ups. After I am sure the tank is cycled, I welcomed limited numbers of shrimps like 2-3 and obserbed them few weeks to make sure they will survive and look OK. Then you are ready to go to welcome new allias into the army The number of the shrimps are directly related with your tank size. In my country it's generally recommended 1 shrimp per 1 liter High5's and ANBU
DETAquarium
Dependent on the shrimp, I say this because of price, I attempt to introduce no less than 10-12. Ultimately it depends on the size aquarium as well. I wouldn't purchase just 10-12 for a 40g Breeder, but 10-12 would be sufficient to me in a 20 long or my favorite the 17.1g Mr. Aqua. Soothing Shrimp
I usually recommend a colony of 10 for a tenner to start with. More experienced breeders can get away with more, but for the average person just starting this gives enough warning of problems if they should occur, while still leaving shrimp for rebuilding a colony. JamesHe
It's a tricky question. For massive breeding, more the better. I would say 20-30 shrimps with 4:1 F/M ratio. For selective breeding, you may just start with one pair. too many P1 would make selective breeding impossible to achieve your goal. Garlands
Thanks everyone for your input! I forgot to mention that I have a 20g long aquarium. I have ordered 11 more shrimps, putting me at 18. I think that will probably be good for now.
