Soothing Shrimp
I love 3d nets, but the white color of the net (or any color of net) is driving me batty. I want a 3D net that is CLEAR! There. I said it. A CLEAR 3D net. One that is invisible underwater so I can see my catch better, and the shrimp run away less. Heck, I'd even use it for fish! Yeah, I know- technique, less running, blah blah blah. I've said that myself many times, and technique does work to a degree. Yet, I still want to see my shrimp in the net, in the water as well. I've given up trying to find one. I'll just make my own I guess. *grumble grumble* Anyone have any creative suggestions of CLEAR micro netting? I thought tulle, but that doesn't come in clear that I can find, and no- white won't do it. Seems weird they can make fishing line in clear, but I can't find micro netting in it. DETAquarium
Great idea! I would purchase one for aesthetics, doesn't bother me so much otherwise. Soothing Shrimp
aquariumlover10
you could try weaving a net of fishing line or molding plastic. Soothing Shrimp
RyeGuy411
I was thinking a 3D printed net of clear plastic. It would not be soft but would probably be smooth. Soothing Shrimp
sarah
What about this? http://www.shrimpspot.com/index.php?/topic/3930-glass-shrimp-catchers/?hl=glass
Soothing Shrimp
Saw that Sarah, but a couple drawback for me. I don't really want to add water from one tank to another if I can help it, the handles are not adjustable, and the glass can break.
Soothing Shrimp
I've thought of that more than once, and then ironing it to stay together. you could try weaving a net of fishing line or molding plastic.
aquariumlover10
lol, just do it on top of wax paper and then put another piece on top, then iron it. have you tried it?

35ppt
walmart sells a 3pk of these strainers in the kitchen area. Sm/med/lg. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Mesh-Strainer-with-Handle-Set-of-24/44823304 the mesh is pretty clear and small the handle is not good for tank use, of course, but perhaps the mesh would work for you? It really does behave differently from netting, tho. Check out dollar stores, too, you might find something usable there.
