Soothing Shrimp
I was originally thinking of auto water changes, but now I've got myself wondering about using water bridges for extra water volume. I have 6 tanks per shelf. 10g tanks. If I connect those tanks, I now have 60g and a more stable param. Has anyone done this?
Wygglz
That is what we did with ours in addition to the water change thing for the entire setup. Soothing Shrimp
Soothing Shrimp
Nice. Did you just invert the tube to fill with water, or did you suck the air out somehow?
Wygglz
Sorry, Gill just let me know we don't use water bridges, we use something else to connect them all together.
Soothing Shrimp
No problem. I'm thinking I can do this very very cheaply....
gillznglass
If you search on you tube for [water bridge joey] he has a cool vid on it. Yes you will increase tank volume but your shrimp will be able to swim from tank to tank. Putting somthing in the water bridge to stop immigration will reduce flow to much. Soothing Shrimp
My plan is to put something over the inlet to keep shrimp from getting into it. You may be correct about the flow being reduced too much, however I don't think it will. Water molecules are smaller than any filter I may place over the ends of the hoses/pipes. Current filter idea is SS on the ends...
gillznglass
You are missing out on the water change system. You could still do it cheep with siphon overflows. PM me if you like. Ill give you my number and we can talk about it.
Soothing Shrimp
Thank you. I just don't have the money right now, however I may do a rain check on that offer.
