JerSaint
Hi All, Just shot some pics of the 20 Long. I plan on starting a blog but thought I would post some pics in the meantime. Enjoy and let me know what you think. Check out the backround / base I built for my tank! You can see the wood grain behind the lily! Soothing Shrimp
Ditto on the background. The wood grain looks really nice.
mosspearl
Nice planting job! Nice range of heights and textures. The wood background is a nice contrast, too.
JerSaint
Thanks Guys! I still have a bit of tinkering to do on the right side. I would like to rase up the hardscape and make that rock a bit more noticeable.
Merth
Looks great Jer! I never can figure how peoples plants look so great without co2 and ferts! wink wink
JerSaint
Thanks Merth! I do a small dose of excel daily (enough for a 10 gallon). And the dirt provides all the nutrients.
MABJ
Excellent looking.
Merth
Is that MGOPS with ecocomplete cap?
JerSaint
Thanks MAJB! MGOPS with sand cap. My 36G planed is eco with sand. Haven't thought about capping with eco but it could be cool.
Merth
Might be too much ferts between the soil and the eco. Turn into an algae farm.
OblongShrimp
Is MGOPS Miracle Grow Organic Potting Soil?
JerSaint
Yup. Miracle Grow Organic Potting Soil. Will it be added to the acronym database? I am really enjoying this tank, its my first shrimp tank and they are AWESOME!
wicca32
if you want the lily to keep lower leaves i would trim the pad that is going to the top. it will start to produce more and stop making lower leaves. they are nice either way really. i have one of the dwarf lily bulbs from walmart and it put off 5 plants. i let one send up pads in a 10 gal and 3 leaves cover most of the surface in a 10 gallon so the pads get big even for the dwarf lilys. they do keep the pretty pink as well and once it starts getting good roots you can snip it off the bulb and new plants will form on the bulb its self. beautiful tank and love the way the colors are. nice shrimp as well keep up the good work
JerSaint
Thanks Wicca. I was wondering about that. I will snip it today. I really like the low growing leaves.
