Just received some Royal Blue Tigers from FlipAquatics. They look fantastic and all 8+1 arrived healthy and active.

Pics are undoctored except a little exposure adjustment. Canon SL1. 50mm F1.8 and 36mm extension tube. 1/100th-F13-ISO400. Flash directly above through umbrella modifier.

They look great! Most of my adult OEBT have the rusty red coloration, especially when berried it intensifies. I have been thinking about getting a SL1 body for sometime now, any thoughts?

I love my SL1. For an entry level DSLR it offers great bang for the buck and includes features found on much more expensive models. I probably would have gone with one of the mirror-less models out now but the Canon EOS-M is a dud and I already have a bunch of Canon lenses. What ever you get, just make sure it has an optical viewfinder. Focusing in macro work isn't very easy without it.

I wrote an entire article for Oblongshrimp describing my setup and procedure for shrimp photography. Keep an eye out for it.

Amazing! Great shots and beautiful tigers. Ive always preferred the ones with the rusty red color but have never seen them for sale. Are they not desirable? Or maybe im just missing the sellers that have them.
