35ppt
ugh, I have nightmares about this kind of thing. Would not have guessed ottos could do this?

OMG Aquatics
It can happen. When they freak out or something, they can easily dash out. When ottos were first introduced to my tank, you would see them zip across the tank really fast when lights go on and off. It is possible it zipped upwards instead of sideways. svetilda
svetilda
I added some distilled water to the tank yesterday (the brand I used before and the jar was opened and used by me a week ago). Then before I went to bed took some water out of the tank because it seemed as the level was too high and I was worrying that nerites may escape. In the morning found the oto on the floor and TT female dying in the tank.
Vpier
I added some distilled water to the tank yesterday (the brand I used before and the jar was opened and used by me a week ago). In the morning found the oto on the floor and TT female dying in the tank. Sorry to hear that but any fish can jump out. All my tanks are as full as I can get them and never had nerites escape but an occasional pond snail will crawl out on the edge.
Crackhead Johny
All my otos vanished, though I did manage to see 3 of them yesterday. I suspect they loved the black water tank and do not like it now that most of the tanin is gone.
