brocknorman Posted March 12, 2016 Report Posted March 12, 2016 Hello I am going on a trip this weekend for 7 days and I was wondering what I should feed my shrimp. Should I feed them algae wafers? Or should I order a brand of food that will last a while? If so, please leave the brand and where I could purchase it. -Brock Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
OMG Aquatics Posted March 12, 2016 Report Posted March 12, 2016 How big is your tank and how many shrimps? If your filtration isn't air powered, you might also need to find a way to auto top off unless your tank doesn't evaporate much. Quote
brocknorman Posted March 12, 2016 Author Report Posted March 12, 2016 It is 10 gallon with air powered along filter and 6 blue bolts Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
Shrimple minded Posted March 12, 2016 Report Posted March 12, 2016 Isn't this the tank that you just very recently completed cycling? If it is a new tank it may not be "mature" with adequate biofilm and goodies. Leaf litter and snowflake are both good options for a week-long absence. svetilda 1 Quote
brocknorman Posted March 12, 2016 Author Report Posted March 12, 2016 Would "ALGAE WAFERS" work? As well as biofilm? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
OMG Aquatics Posted March 12, 2016 Report Posted March 12, 2016 Since you only have 6 shrimp in a 10G, they would be fine feeding on just biofilm. Quote
dreamer_yoyo Posted March 13, 2016 Report Posted March 13, 2016 You don't need to feed them if you are away only for a week. They would be just fine. Quote
DETAquarium Posted March 14, 2016 Report Posted March 14, 2016 6 Blue Bolts are really not enough to leave an algae wafer. I would break a piece of snowflake into quarters and drop a piece in. Quote
brocknorman Posted March 14, 2016 Author Report Posted March 14, 2016 Ok thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
