Firedove
I bought 3 shrimp from my LFS, owner confirms they were sold to him as Amano shrimp and plans to confront his supplier. They are definitely not and while two are most likely plain wild type Neocaridina there is one that is different. It is darker brown, some times nearly black and sometimes more red but it has what I'm told is a fish bone pattern. Is this a Neo with an odd phenotype or something else? I also included pics of the others just to confirm they are simply wild Neos and not young something else (one has an actual Amano in the background). Thank you for any help! ohmiko
:OOO!!! I have these too!!! I bought them for $1 each as "Colorless amano" but they gained colors soon after i put them in my tank. I thought i was just lucky to get amanos that had a different color variation! Interesting and good to know
wslam
The last two photos are definitely Malaya shrimps, I have one. They change colors depending on lighting and mood, pretty cool! Soothing Shrimp
