Subtletanks91
IMO apistos have more personality than rams. My male trifasciata now comes to the top of the tank and I can put my finger and pet him before he slowly backs away. Then I feed him it's so funny, my rams were never quite so personable
wicca32
i had rams from an awesome ram breeder back about 9 years ago they were great. full of personality and always out and about. poor dears froze when i lost power for a week in the middle of winter. wanted some ever since. i hope i like these just as much though. i think it will be fun

Subtletanks91
Riddle me this. How do apistos lay eggs on the top of a cave? Float upside down or lay the eggs on the ground fert alive them and then pick them up and place them
Triton
Pick them up and place them where they think they'll be safer

Subtletanks91
If you fees frozen foods, high protein foods and live there colors will become more vibrant and high protein diets condition them to breed

wicca32
well the female has become aggressive. she took a home up behind one of the pieces of drift wood and now chases the bristle nose out. she dont even like them in that half of the tank. i knew they could get aggressive but man i didnt think it would be this bad..... no eggs that i see any way
Triton
eh same happened for me. Just keep an eye out. Usually its a good sign
Subtletanks91
It's always a good sign. That only happens when eggs are present. Keep an eye on the male though she will become agressive towards him as well. I have a apisto hongsloi female I need to re home there beating her up pretty bad. She's healthy just tore fins
Triton
Yea, that's why I'm happy I have as many as I do, it spreads the aggression out fairly well in the tank. If I had my other 10 open I'd take that Hongsloi and then buy a few more but don't have the room yet
Subtletanks91
She's not going to have a happy ending in wither of my tanks.
