  1. How long was this tank set up? Maybe the tank is going through a cycle? The nitrate has to come from somewhere if its at the same level after a large 50% water change.... I would figure out the ammonia levels and test for nitrite again, to see if its cycling.
  2. From my research you will end up with f1 mischlings, so you will end up with mostly normal looking crs and/or cbs that carry the taiwan bee genes. you have a VERY slight chance of taiwan bees popping up, then the mischlings need to be bred back with a taiwan bee for increased chances of taiwan bee offspring. like i said this is all from research and not from first hand experience, so maybe someone can chime in with first hand experience.
  3. You should look in to opae ula, or better known as "hawaiian red shrimp" they can be bought in little pre-assembled sealed eco systems (no pump or circulation) and you just give them some sunlight to develop algae and micro organisms for food. Mine lasted for 10 years so far. Just be warned, you need to top off with distilled water every so often since they are brackish and you have to keep the salinity consistent.
  4. Which shrimp you get is probably dependant on your budget and preference. I like blue carbon rilis since its two tone and and it really catches the eye compared to a solid colored shrimp.
  5. Most neos breed true unless hybridized, all neos require fairly similar water parameters, you should post your parameters. I think the most important thing is water parameter stability and temperature.
  6. Idk, i think they all fall under a red king kong i guess? The labelling for patterns are very confusing
  7. Hows the tds and ammonia? The temperature of the tank? Im kinda new to the hobby, but from what i understand if your gh and kh are too high, it could cause the water parameters to be unstable. Are you using RO water with remineralizer?
  8. So what makes it the Dragon blood? Does it have black patterns underlaying the red? Or is it simply just darker?
  9. Anyone have experience with eriocaulon "blood vomit,? Can i grow them with high light and no co2 in my shrimp tank with sl-aqua nature soil and the temp ranges from 72f-74f?
  10. Looks like the shrimp poop does have some affect on the bioload lol
  11. Looks to me like you have a wine red, thats definitely wayyy darker
  12. I would love to see videos of the green tigers in action, keep us updated please
  13. The facebook groups definitely have more activity/traffic, i wish sponsors would update sales/specials here though, kinda hard to find specials on the fb groups due to the random algorithm for the group posts.
  14. Nice, all offspring were blue bolts im assuming?
