Soothing Shrimp Posted November 9, 2015 Report Posted November 9, 2015 Another just for fun. Isn't she beautiful? This color was called "Green Czech Republic" years ago. A couple problems occurred with this "strain" though. It was found in the wild The offspring weren't true. Reds, blues, yellows, wilds, etc would come out with little of any offspring green. This leads me to believe the green was probably because of diet, but how nice the excitement was during that brief period of time years ago. Shrimpie, gillznglass, jem_xxiii and 1 other 4 Quote
DETAquarium Posted November 9, 2015 Report Posted November 9, 2015 Very nice green indeed. Was this a Caridina? Quote

jem_xxiii Posted November 9, 2015 Report Posted November 9, 2015 how long did the buzz on the possibility of this shrimp last? Quote
Soothing Shrimp Posted November 9, 2015 Author Report Posted November 9, 2015 About as long as the jades. When people started seeing generations not breeding true, it pretty much fell out of favor. Quote
BadAlgae Posted November 10, 2015 Report Posted November 10, 2015 This is pretty neat, thank you for sharing! Any ideas on what part of their diet could have caused the green color? I wonder if it is possible for them to lose the green color over time if someone were to change their diet. Quote
Soothing Shrimp Posted November 10, 2015 Author Report Posted November 10, 2015 Myself and others have experienced the turning color of yellows to greens and browns through diet. Take away the diet and they revert back eventually. Wygglz 1 Quote
Soothing Shrimp Posted November 10, 2015 Author Report Posted November 10, 2015 Unfortunately, some scammers on are to it and have sold yellow shrimp that have been doctored with diets for a quick buck. Quote
gillznglass Posted November 16, 2015 Report Posted November 16, 2015 Well if it was many years ago some lsd could have leaked into the water. It could happen. Especially if Hendrix was in the area. And you did say flashback sir so........ Shrimpie and Soothing Shrimp 2 Quote
