Shrimpy Daddy
It's spirogyra. Don't scrap or it will spread throughout the whole tank. You will have to suck them out and/or nuke them with H2O2. Spirogyra grow at high light with ammonia spike. I guess you need heed my advise on cutting back the light. Is it growing at the top of the tank glass or even at the bottom?
burp
Mostly at the middle. I've already cut my lights to one t5 tube for 6 hours daily. Hmm Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
burp
H2o2 is safe for shrimps? Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
Shrimpy Daddy
What type of lights are you using? Can you hang it higher or dim it? The best way to clean (for your case) it is to drain the water until the bottom of the algae and keep the water you drained. After that, use paper towel and put the 3% concentration H2O2 on the paper towel and then wipe the algae off. Keep repeat the wiping until the tank glass is squeaky clean. Wipe the tank glass again with a new paper towel with H2O2 and leave it there for 20 mins (keep wetting it with H2O2 if it become dry). While you are wiping, don't let anything drip into the tank water. After that, fill the water back. H2O2 is totally safe for shrimp as long as the concentration is low. burp
Will snails or algae eaters like pleco do the job? Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
burp
Draining water will be difficult as it will be alot of water. Don't have the container for that much. About 40 litres Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
Shrimpy Daddy
Not draining all water. You mentioned on the middle part, then should be draining half, which work out to be about 20L. Just 1 tube and causes spirogyra? Hmmm... Then your ammonia must be really high or there are a lot of them hitchhike from the plants. Have you gotten the Purigen? It does help on ammonia spike. burp
Just fine drip tests. Nitrate and ammonia level dropped significantly from before. Might have been consumed by these algae. Lol Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk

Shrimpy Daddy
That's a good news. It is slowly acclimate to the water. It should be able survived if the shell can harden on time for the next couple of days.
