AquaticEngineer
Thought I should make a proper introduction My name is Stu, I've been keeping fresh and marine fish and inverts for eons it seems. Most recently I took up an old interest I had abandoned 15 years ago and started keeping temperate/coldwater marine aquariums. That interest led to a small business idea, and now I collect and supply specimens from the frigid waters of the Pacific NW for public aquariums, universities, and (since I'm a hobbyist at heart) we also sell direct to the public for interested in keeping a coldwater aquarium. I started chiming on a thread after being emailed about keeping some temperate species from one of your forum members. Theres already quite a bit of info on that one about some of the shrimps I've kept or can collect, as well as some links to breeding resources and what has been successfully bred in the past. Here's that thread: http://www.shrimpspot.com/index.php?/topic/1863-does-anyone-live-near/?hl=coldwater Anyways hi everybody! mayphly
Soothing Shrimp
We're very glad to have you here, Stu! Our forum started about a year ago, and as you can see it has become very popular. If you'd like to be a sponsor, all we ask is for a give away once a month of something. It doesn't have to be something expensive, and it draws attention to you and your business. As members of a young forum, we feel this works better in everyone's favor for now. Here's the section for sponsors here: http://www.shrimpspot.com/index.php?/forum/21-sponsors/ There's also the market section that is free to sell from and buy from atm, and you may be interested in as well. http://www.shrimpspot.com/index.php?/forum/6-the-marketplace/ Again, welcome! Soothing Shrimp
Challenge I have is that my water fluxuates during the year from 68-84F. I keep a heater in my Sulawesi tank to keep it 79-80F all year though. There are many people here who are able to keep their water cool though and would appreciate the RAOK (random act of kindness)! RyeGuy411
Welcome I would be curious about setting up some kind of cold water tank. I have a spot in my house that would keep a tank between 64-70 all year winter to summer.
