How to get rid of Detrius worms?

When I just started shrimping I had the worms. I made a very small syphon from a hard drinking straw, air tube and a jar with a lid and syphoned my subsrate. I don't have them any more but I still syphon all of my tanks. But now I use a turkey baster and let the dirty water stay a couple of days and look for shrimplets in there. It's easy to use white bowl for this (or transparent and put it on something white).

And I think the worms are harmless but not pretty to look at.

I also recommend using shrimp bowls, or something where you put the food instead of dropping it directly on the substrate. They making cleaning up very easy and isolating food leftovers.
