Hello from California

Hi everyone, I'm from Socal.  I've been lurking on this forum for a while, decided to finally make an account.  I've been keeping keeping tanks for about 15 years, planted tank for 10 years, and shrimp for the past 5.  So far I've only been keeping a few tanks of RCS and fire red cherries for now, but I've been seriously thinking about doing a shrimp rack so I've come here for inspiration and advice!

Here are some pics of my current stock.

Another fellow SCAPE member, there are several of us on Shrimpspot. A lot of really good knowledgeable people on this forum. I just wish we all lived closer so we could hold monthly meetings like we do with SCAPE. I could just imagine all the shrimp being traded and sold.

I highly recommend hitting up members here for shrimp your looking for or the vendors that contribute to Shrimpspot.

Welcome on board!

TSS meets would be pretty awesome.

Whose down to host?!

Heres my 12g long with Fire Reds and some CRS:

The hardscape is dragonstone and 1x9L bag of ADA amazonia. I started out with 20-30 Fire Reds and now I have hundreds.  There are only a few CRS in there at the moment though.  Flora is all mini xmas moss atop the rockwork and e. belem DHG on the soil.  I used to use straight tap water for the Neos but once I got the CRS, I've been slowly replacing water by dripping in RODI water remineralized with half SS GH+ and half SS 7.5 Sulawesi.  Should I use just SS GH+ by itself? I figured I'd mix a little SS 7.5 in to bring the KH up a little bit since I'm doing Co2 and I have Neos.  What do you guys think?

NItrate:5-10

TDS- 175-225 ppm

GH: 5-6

KH- 1-2

Co2 Injection, very little just 1-2 bps.

pH- 6.4-6.8

Welcome Birdman! We are glad to have you, your shrimp look fantastic! Honestly if what your doing is working, I wouldn't change a thing. If something seems to be a problem then maybe we can dive deeper into parameters.

Wow! That moss!!!! What kind of rock is that?

Mini xmas moss on Dragon Stone (Ohko Stone).  I'm not happy with my current scape, but the moss is growing out so nicely that I'm hesitant to tear this thing down for a rescape.  I really don't like the hardscape, but it took forever to grow that moss out.  And i was having trouble with algae on my moss when the tank was new.  Its been a month algae free after I removed as much as I could, blacked out the tank for 3 days,  took out one t5 light bulb, put some floaters in, and placed a window screen mesh under the light.

Some pics from start to now:
