svetilda
I was wondering if it's only me who use shrimp food after expiration dates. When I started shrimping I bought a lot of mosura and borneowild brand foods/supp. and I'm nowhere close to finishing the jars/packets. Should I discontinue using them or is OK to feed shrimp with expired food?
ctaylor3737
I use it for a long time, as long as it's sealed and dry is good imo. Most stuff is natural and not cooked so should be fine. It's been around alot longer than that for some minerals. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk svetilda
Soothing Shrimp
I use it anyway. Shrimp are made to eat things from the bottom of rivers, etc. I don't even give it a second thought. According to law, "All companies that produce consumables must, by federal law, have an expiration date on it." Even bottled water has an expiration date on it. DETAquarium
I do as well, most of the food smells the exact same from two years ago when I first opened. Crazy how long a bag of food lasts.
californiashrimp
I ignore dates on food. If it smells fine and the shrimp eat it I use it. I think the dates are a CYA from the manufacturer. Soothing Shrimp
Crackhead Johny
No expiration date on leaf litter. So based on the idea that plants actively going bad, is good for shrimp, I'd say food that is a little older is just fine.
