jem_xxiii
Steel Red are red bolt x red bolt over several generations, I've been told. Does that mean blue steel is blue bolt x blue bolt?
Shrimple minded
I just saw steel blue's the other day on Szopen's Shrimp (found through SKF). They (and many of his other shrimp) look AMAZING. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjMFrG9Q0yhf94Ql35c8qrA On the subject of what other leaders in the shrimpkeeping world are pulling off, the mention of Monica Pohler the other day had me googling as well. She has shadow tigers and "midnight prince" shrimp that are beautiful. Her website also has some other interesting reads (including info on halfsiders): http://www.shrimp-art.com/
JamesHe
It's quite expensive at this point.

Soothing Shrimp
Jem- not sure, however I would think that is a resonable assumption.
DETAquarium
I have seen Szopen's Steel Blue TBs and my guess is they are selectively bred Blue Bolts. Soothing Shrimp

Citycode01
Just received Breeders n Keepers VOL.3 on Friday, one breeder from germany Manfred Reinelt - creator of the steel shrimp, has explained in his article how to produce Steel shrimps. "Steel shrimp are crossbreed between Tangerine Tiger and selected Shadow shrimp" He carefully selected Shadow shrimp and crossbreed with TT then F1 ( I believe they kind of steel mischlings) crossbreed back with Shadow. I have just ordered 15 TT imported from Germany, wish me luck Soothing Shrimp, jem_xxiii and _OnTheRocks
Lloydwang
what does it mean by shadow shrimp? I have seen that term used heavily in German breeders. Are they TBs like shadow pandas? or Taibee? Are they TBs like shadow pandas? or Taibee? Shadow bee and TB is the same shrimp just a diferent name. In europe they call them shadow shrimp. To be more specific pseudo TiBs. Bruce, I'm not from us I'm based in uk. I bought it on http://www.pro-shrimp.co.uk/you can ask them if they ship in US. I saw it on ebay also but .co.uk ebay not .com This part is the most interesting - it's a lot of stuff about shrimp diseases and how to treat them and about the nature of the shrimps about the places where they came from.
